The results of Wingword Poetry Competition 2020 have been declared. You can check the full list of prizewinners by visiting the Results page on the website. The winning and commendable poems from the competition are also available to read online.
All participants will receive brief feedback and certificates of participation via email by May 23rd 2021. This is done to help participants to enhance their writing skills.

Wingword Poetry Competition is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring poets to showcase their talents and creativity. If you have a vigorous zeal for weaving words, this is the right platform for you.
We push our participants to think beyond the ordinary, expand their horizons and passion for writing. Selected poems showcase a fresh and authentic composition, brimming with a vitality of inventive surprises. The poems should have the ability to make us pause and reflect, smile, laugh or even cry. All themes are allowed- family, love, heartbreak, society, history or intricate observations on day-to-day life. It’s your imagination, so let it run wild!
Wingword Poetry Prize distributes a cumulative sum of ₹ 5,00,000 to winners. In addition to receiving cash prizes, winners will be invited to attend Wingword’s prize giving event(subject to government travel restrictions). The winning and commended entries will also be published in the anthology.
Persons who are 16 years old and above, and write in English.
First prize is ₹ 1,00,000 and a book publication contract, second prize ₹ 50,000 and third prize ₹ 25,000. The top 20 prizes receive ₹ 10,000 each.
100 Commendable Mentions will also be published in Wingword’s annual anthology.
Children & Teens
Persons who are between the age group of 7-15 years of age, and write in English.
First prize is ₹ 25,000, second prize ₹ 15,000 and third prize ₹ 10,000. The top 20 prizes receive ₹ 5,000 each.
We provide electronic certificates of participation to all participants.
1. Poems must be written in English.
2. Poems must be the original work of the participant.
