LONELINESS WITHIN ME

By-Tanushree Rath

The haunting memories

The exhausting summer heat

Pain so deep in those soar eyes

Locking up the soul

With ferns of love

I was wrapped in your arms so tight, but was somewhere else

Moved by my thoughts

Neglected by my soul

I was numb, non-responsive

To the touch of your finger tips on my lips

I was being gulped up by my loneliness, which was so deep

That even your sweet idioms

Can't be heard

Your hands wrapped around me

Felt like a thorny cage, to be left

I went too far to be reached

Although I was there with you

But my soul was set free…
