Yin-Yang Snakes

Trisha Bhatia

Twirls and hiss all around
She saw them moving on the ground
One was day the other was night
Meandering through the grass, with their might
The golden royalty had yellow eyes
The dark beauty seemed mysteriously wise
Bliss and misfortune together she saw
Queens of nature without a flaw
They wrapped her with their scaly skins
Blessed with powers and forgave her sins
With all the powers she wore the crown
And bravely ruled the universe's town
She stumbled and the crown disappeared in the gleam
Alas! It was just a dream.
