If I Had A Superpower

Our past reflects our present
So if I had a superpower
I would choose to go into my past and make some corrections.

12 months back, I would save my best friend
Who committed suicide.
He was different and unique.
But alas! The society failed to understand him.
No wonder government approved sec377,
Fear of our stereotypical society will
always hold us back.
I would run to streets and protest.
I would scream and make them understand.

2 years back, I would post all the letters kept in my bed drawer.
Letters written for my beloved.
Letters with rows of blue roses.
Letters written with the ink of his love.
Which I still nourish with the
soil of my emotions, hopes and tears.

4 years back, I would save my parent's dying marriage.
I would save their starving love.
I would change my years old house menue -
"Half baked truth for breakfast and full fledged lies for supper."
I would go back and tell my younger self that,
God still exists.
Miracles do happen.
And happy marriages are not extinct yet.

If I had a superpower I would change my past.
I would go back in time and clear the growing misunderstandings in my relations.
I would go back in time and erase the widening distance in my relations.
