Alone

By Pragadish Kirubakaran

Left alone in a place so strange
These mocking faces,
They laugh away in quiet astray
I grasped your hand
And held it gently against mine,
Until we find our new start
I promised I'll neither fall nor depart.
And as I speak
Your hands grip my heart,
Those slender fingers
So cold and dead
Begins to tear it apart;
Piece by piece,
I learn,
There is no possible start.
Lost and alone,
In a world so unknown
These strange mocking faces
Remind me I'm already home.
