Our next theme for August Issue of Beetle Magazine is dreams. Take us to the fantastical world of your daydreams, reveries, visions, goals, hopes and aspirations about the big picture of your life.

Writers are prompted to explore how the beauty of their dreams pushes them to reach for the stars and change the course of their future. Dreaming and imagination leads us to a pure state of self-reflection and realization. How far will you go to fulfil their dreams, despite the countless hurdles and obstacles?

    Dear Diary

Write about an event or a day in your life that was worth writing in your Diary. The work can be about what happened, how you felt and why that event has stayed with you in your memory.

Be descriptive with your writing and use real life as inspiration.

    What Will People Say?

Your work can be about the things people have to deal with because they fear the judgment of neighbours, relatives or society.
You can write about any personal experience where you felt like you were pressured into doing something just so you could avoid a dirty look or a raised eyebrow from someone.
You could also write about ways one can learn to ignore what others think about them.

Feel free to interpret the topic whichever way you like. Send us something exciting to read.

Beetle Magazine welcomes submissions on the unending realm of fantasy. Stories or poems can be set in an imaginative universe filled with magical and surreal elements that do not exist in the real world.

The writer can include imaginary characters such as dragons, trolls, unicorns, sea-serpents or even giant humans. Or choose a setting only imagination can take us to, like pre-historic era or underwater civilizations. Let your imagination run wild…

We invite all sorts of poems and stories on horror. Get writing to scare, shock, or even disgust readers by inducing feelings of terror and horror. Be it ghosts, zombies, witches or other creatures of the night- writers should weave their works around the supernatural.

Using originality and creativity, writers should give us a taste of the other world where evil reigns.

We analyze your writing and give you constructive feedback within couple of weeks. This will help you improve your writing skills and understand how your work impacts the reader. Writing is a journey, a process. We have the interests of writers in our hearts and guide each one as part of the ever growing DelSlam community.
