Sreya B is a native of Kerala—a land celebrated for its cultural richness and natural beauty. She was raised in a family of passionate readers who nurtured her love for literature from an early age. Immersed in the enchanting stories of Sudha Murty as a child, she discovered a lifelong passion for reading and storytelling. Her educational journey began at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, where she excelled both academically and in extracurricular pursuits. As she grew up, Malayalam literature became a profound source of comfort and inspiration. The evocative verses of Sugathakumari, the simplicity of Kunjunni Mash, and the nuanced narratives of MT Vasudevan Nair shaped her literary sensibilities and deepened her understanding of human emotions.
Sreya’s reading interests extend beyond regional literature. Drawn to timeless world classics and Indian English poets like Rabindranath Tagore and Sarojini Naidu, she seeks voices that evoke emotion and insight. Literature, for her, is both a refuge and a guiding force. Outside of reading, Sreya enjoys singing, exploring speeches in English, and learning new languages—German being her latest obsession.
She was chosen from among thousands of applicants to be part of the World Poetry Project 2025. Her poems were subsequently published in Across Latitude & Language, a global anthology showcasing the works of all participants of WPP 2025.
