Sanjana Krishna Upadhayayula is a passionate writer and poet whose words flow straight from the heart. Her solo poetry collection, Drifting Thoughts (2023), marked the beginning of her published journey, touching upon themes of self-reflection, emotion, and healing. Her writing is deeply influenced by her personal life experiences, particularly her journey through medical challenges, which she transforms into powerful expressions on paper. She has contributed to several anthologies including Voices of the Edge by Wingword and Delhi Poetry Slam, featuring her debut poem “Personal Turmoil”, in Light and Shadow by Writer’s Pocket which features “Winds of Transformation”, and Buds of Poetry Volume 2 by House of Publishing & Manda Publishers, which includes “Life: The Unanswered Quest.” Each piece showcases her ability to observe, feel deeply, and articulate the nuances of life in a simple yet impactful way. Sanjana’s upcoming works include 25 Stories One Journey (Rosewood Publications) and Between Reality and Imagination (Writer’s Pocket), further proving her versatility in storytelling and poetry.
She aims to establish a career in the writing industry while continuing to write with purpose and passion. Currently pursuing a degree in English Literature, Sanjana is committed to learning and growing as a writer every day.
Sanjana was chosen from among thousands of applicants to be part of the World Poetry Project 2025. Her poems were subsequently published in Across Latitude & Language, a global anthology showcasing the works of all participants of WPP 2025.
