Peter Maeck is a writer, teacher, and photographer. His published poetry collections include "Aperture" and "Remembrance of Things Present: Making Peace with Dementia" about his father's journey through Alzheimer's disease. Peter is currently collaborating as writer/photographer with Trijog, a mental health counseling service in Mumbai, on a book aimed at relaxing the mental health taboo in India. Peter's novel "Zänker," a murder mystery, was published in 2023.
His plays and dance scenarios, including for Pilobolus and MOMIX Dance Theatres, have been produced internationally. Peter was a U.S. State Department Cultural Specialist in Tanzania and Morocco. He teaches creative writing (poetry and prose), photography, and French language. He was named one of the "100 Hot Photographers of 2021" by the Duncan Miller Gallery in Los Angeles.
