Mikey Cullen is a Dublin poet, teacher, actor, filmmaker, lyricist and spoken word artist. His poetry has been published in print numerous times including Totally Dublin and Poetry is Dead. He has performed at Electric Picnic, All Together Now, Saint Patrick's Festival and Feile na Phobail amongst many other festivals the length and breath of Ireland. He is a regular collaborator with and sometimes host of the traditional Irish storytelling movement ‘Seanchoiche’. Mikey has performed his poem ‘Home’ on the Pat Kenny Newstalk show, The Ray Darcy show and the RTE poetry show did a feature on him. Mikey is a member of the Poetry Kiln collective.
A multidisciplinary artist, Mikey effortlessly transcends genres and mediums to express ‘what swims in his soul’ and his sharp social critique. He has released a number of Hip-Hop songs and regularly collaborates with musicians of all kinds, providing poetic lyricism to an eclectic array of genres and forms.
Mikey regularly uses his artform for activism, lending his voice to the Palestinian struggle and movements for Irish Unity and social equality.
Mikey's work has been published in Across Latitude & Language by Delhi Poetry Slam, a global anthology of poets celebrating diverse voices from around the world.
