Cheritha Kaiwar – Delhi Poetry Slam

Cheritha Kaiwar

Cheritha Kaiwar is a young writer and poet from Bengaluru, India. Being a recent high school graduate, she completed her 12th grade with top academic honours and a State Rank.

When she’s not writing or reading a novel, you can find her nose-deep in a Science book, aiming to pursue her passion for Literature and Science simultaneously.

After all, she believes that Science and poetry can be two sides of the same coin, both trying to express the universe the best they can.

She wishes to publish a collection of her poems in the future, exploring new perspectives. Her feelings are the thread with which the tapestry of her poetry is woven. She first fell in love with Emily Dickinson’s poetry, who showed her that words can hold the entire world, if you just let them.

She has a keen interest in learning new languages, writing poetry and prose in Kannada too. Now, she hopes to also soon write in French and Hindi.
Her idea of an ideal day? Good friends, a good book, a cozy corner, and a cup of coffee.

She was chosen from among thousands of applicants to be part of the World Poetry Project 2025. Her poems were subsequently published in Across Latitude & Language, a global anthology showcasing the works of all participants of WPP 2025.
