Belinda began writing poetry in the late 1990s after a diagnosis of MS in 1996 left her world crashing down around her. In the early years of her writing. It became an outlet for her to sort through many emotions and feelings she struggled to handle in her young adulthood.
Soon, that outlet became her source of strength, her superpower for navigating life, and she went on to write three poetry books and over 350 poems over the course of the last 30 years.
Each poem marked events in her life and highlighted life struggles we all can relate to. “Life is my Inspiration, and Word is my Life”.
Today, Belinda resides deep in the rural wild Appalachia Mountains where she connects to seven generations of family in her home of Green Spring, WV. She feels she is closest to God here.
Belinda's work has been published in Across Latitude & Language by Delhi Poetry Slam, a global anthology of poets celebrating diverse voices from around the world.
