Amit Chatterjee

Amit Chatterjee is an accomplished poet and an experienced IT professional working in the field of Analytics & Data Science with a global organization. He has an intense passion for literature since childhood and also has a deep interest in nature, religion and mythology. He likes to write poetry every day and finds out some time from his busy schedule to write regularly. His most notable work is ‘Kalashamritam’, an epic poem on the early life of Lord Krishna. Containing 900 stanzas of 4 lines each with alternate lines rhyming and each line having exactly 8 syllables, the poem is one of the longest poems in English literature covering several events from the early years of the Lord like his divine birth, the killing of different monsters, taming of Kalia the serpent, lifting Mount Govardhan, the sacred dance Raas Lila, the killing of Kansa and shifting of kingdom to Dwarka. Amit has inherited the passion of writing from his late father who was a poet and author in Bengali literature. He has also 3 more self-published poetry books available in Amazon Kindle and other platforms like Pothi. He has also attended poetry sessions by Delhi Poetry Slam and other groups.

He was chosen from among thousands of applicants to be part of the World Poetry Project 2025. His poems were subsequently published in Across Latitude & Language, a global anthology showcasing the works of all participants of WPP 2025.
