You were – Delhi Poetry Slam

You were

By Nilesh Bhardwaj

In the universe divided by planets, you were my sky.

In the society divided by religion, you were my prayer.

In the world divided by color, you were my skin.

In the countries divided by status, you were my currency.

In the state divided by boundaries, you were my map.

In the continents divided by ocean, you were my water.

In the months divided by seasons, you were my calendar.
