When you built your home on Mars. – Delhi Poetry Slam

When you built your home on Mars.

By Dr Priyanka Roy

When you built your home on Mars;
Forget this earth, where you had lived so long.
Erase your memory, after reaching the zenith of modern tech.
And turn primitive again... there.

When you built your home on Mars;
Become one with them again.
The trees, the flowers,
This wind, land and flowing river.
Maybe love will not be so scarce there.
And an effortless life;
Irrespective of any gender.

When you built your home on Mars;
Let your mind's sole concern
Be food, clothes and shelter.
Don't give the time to brood,
About politics, power and murder.

When you built your home on Mars;
Be one among the animals, again.
Atleast 'hunger' will be the sole reason,
If ever you kill there.

Let unity rebuild civilization,
A common faith run there.
And you stay as you have been created,
One species one race...'Homo sapiens'.
Just never repeat the mistake,
That you did here.
Never bring Religion there.

You turned this Earth red,
Remove this blemish on your race,there.
A 'red planet' called by nature itself,
When you will built your home there;
Turn Mars like what Earth had been once.
