When tangerine gleams

By Sujatha R

When tangerine gleams ripe
grins budding in spring
castles of “Hanok” stand tall far distant
walls of mountains guard
whispers of fresh air wings float
bend their barks over the woods
flowers stroll at morn
fragrance so vibrant captivating
of hues pink combat blinking diamonds
warmth of embroidered hats, velvet black
slender flow till the waist of her
boughs of green lush peep across
the fence, leaves strewn
break from the noisy visitors
gush of the river below arched small bridge
at Night luminous full face
wane to welcome the dawn
bring many happy smiles!

Hanok is traditional house with roof architecture in Korea. This poem was written on being inspired by Korean Poet Jeong Ji-Yong
