Voices Beneath Tyranny

By Neeharika Mishra

What extract of humans shall you take?
What acre of crematorium shall you take?

You name yourself as a human of nature,
Yet you navigate each innocent creature.
The time you unleashed the terror of red,
The air seized, as the humans fade.

O tyrants! How long will your terror go?
The names erased as your terror echoes.
If any part of human dwells in your coldness,
Stop the spread of your terror in oddness.

Where shall we ensconce, the afraid us?
The home of ours, your dead feet crush.
To sleep a night peaceful, terror-free.
The streets are claimed by cruel decree.

To kneel down, our feet tremble to worship,
The land beneath is in your tyrant grip.
To beg for the mercy, but the acrid rain,
Your swords still haunt us in red strain.

When the extract of humans shall end,
What will your cruelty of swords lend?
When the acre of crematorium shall end,
Where do the fading spirits wend?

O tyrants! End the cruelty of your reign,
For a long time, we have endured the pain.
