Tranquil Moments

By Shriyandhaa Aravindan

Calm,
In every bit of trickling water
That hurries away smoothly down the river.

Calm,
In every leaf that detaches itself slowly
From its family in its tree.

Calm,
In every breeze that blows peacefully
Away all the clobbering worries.

Calm,
In every second of a sunset so slow as I think,
Colouring the sky orange and pink.

Calm,
In every photograph, a memory
Of the past with times so merry.

Calm,
In every tender press, a calming note
On the piano, a feeling that floats.

Calm,
In every sip of cool water first
That quenches your lasting thirst.

Calm,
In every bit when you close your eyes
To fall into a haven of dreams and lies.

Calm,
In every bit a hug wraps around you
To make you feel not so blue.

Calm,
In every ghost of laughter so gone
That brings up a happy shade of a mild fawn.

Calm,
In every sight of a smile so warm-
Warmth that brings sensation of calm.

Calm,
In every syllable of the word-
Calm.
