to the flowers that bloom tomorrow,
you know not of the imminent sorrow,
or the great grief of knowledge,
that life will put in your way.
you will be scorned due to your looks,
belittled for your color,
your form derided,
before you are cast away, with the wind.
you will be denied liberty,
be grown with contempt,
till you are left with only your heart,
ever relentless, ever fearful.
your nectar will wean,
and you will be filled with poison,
the pollen of premonition,
the seed of suspicion.
to the flowers that bloom tomorrow,
you will be faced with sorrow.
still you must stand with intent,
till you live with content.
This is excellent
This poem is beautifully written, and eloquently describes the everyday struggles of women in the world. This definitely brought a tear to my eye.
it definitely hits hard omg

This is one of the most exquisite pieces I’ve had the pleasure of reading recently.
praying that the author is for the girls 😔
This perfectly summarizes how I feel about the world rn, it so hopeless and hateful, makes me feel like no matter what I do, it’ll make no difference. But ig we’ve got to this point because we keep giving in to the idea that this is how the world works. Pieces like these remind me that maybe we are worth saving.
Great work!
