Then He Spoke – Delhi Poetry Slam

Then He Spoke

By Nisha K P

Wean you will,
Slow and steady,
From the clasp of that motherly hook,
And the warmth of your home.

Wean you will,
From the myriads of love,
Those oases you imagined,
To be yours forever.

Wean you will,
From the decors of untruth,
Those wraps which you thought,
Will adore you forever.

Then you will,
Come serene and dreamy,
Your footsteps so light,
On the Path to our Abode.

The Path I will,
Carpet with flowers,
For your tired little feet,
To be pampered and kissed.

Our Abode I will,
Decorate with Whites,
The color of our love,
For the light which we share.

Like a princess you will,
Walk into our Abode,
With a lover's charm,
And a child's amaze.

There we will,
Sit in eternal embrace,
Our souls entwined,
And words sublimed.

Wait I will ,
For that moment my love,
When you shed those final layers,
And merge as we are.
