The world is burning and we're drowning in its ashes
Watching the flames spread into our funeral pyre
The world is burning and we are wondering
if the cyclones will put out the flames or feed them
If the floods will extinguish the hate that burns in our hearts
Or submerge us in it
The world is burning and we are feeding it logs,
wondering why the wood won’t melt
The world is burning and we are watching from afar
Praising the fireworks, warming our hands,
Cold from the blood of those we have let die
The world is burning and we are trying to bet
Who would burn first?
Who deserves the inferno the most?
Whom to blame and whom to roast?

We’re using the flames to warm our toast
The world is burning and we restrain the firefighters
Lest we offend those who lit the fire
Lest the worlds right to burn be extinguished
