With rays of hope that illuminate the lives
Fading away the menace of misfortunes
From the lives of the ill-fated for a very long
Oh, you’re the Star of a Star
Shining in the sky of hope for many!
Unbeatable in the sky of challenges
For self and many distressed and desolated
Fearless and focused, you enriched the poor
With love in abundance, adamant to flourish
Oh, you’re the Star of a Star
Shining in the sky of dreams for many!
Zealous you were to light up the lives
Of all who came across your path
Empathy with ethics, you empowered the weak
With care in abundance, focused to flourish
Oh, you’re the Star of a Star
Shining in the sky of visions for many!
Affectionate you were to build the lives
Of the known and unknown near and afar
Noble and Nimble, you remained simple
Endearing the minds with mirth and merry
You blessed the world with a Superstar
And the world is blessed to have you as a Star

To an Air Force veteran who will always strive to serve the nation—whether in uniform or through another mission—your spirit is truly admirable. Your poem may be about a shining star actress, but you are equally a star among them. You have reached countless people in need, and your solo cycle race is nothing short of inspiring. I may not be as skilled at framing poems as you are, but I still wish to try these four lines for a real hero like you:

I wholeheartedly thank the concerned team of Delhi Poetry Slam for appreciating this poem and giving it a space here. This was written in dedication to Suzanne Turcotte, mother of none other than Katrina Kaif. I had received some heart-touching remarks from her. The initial letters of the first 4 paragraphs (S U Z A) and 3rd line (N N) and 4th line E indicate her name SUZANNE. These capital letters were in a different colour mode, but here there was no such option.
