Do you remember that warm winter noon,
when the word of love was still unspoken between us?
How infatuated we had sat across each other
as our boat had waded through the placid blue lake!
Do you remember mentioning the sunshine in my raven hair?
And,
How you had touched my cheeks with your gaze a thousand times!
Enticed by your eyes, I had played the little game of hearts,
braces of Shelducks and Greylag Geese bearing my witness.
Do you remember the liquesce smile on your lips,
as you had halted the boat on the waterside by the low hills?
We had then disappeared amongst the bewitched sheeshams and dhaks,
with you chasing after me.
Do you remember how you’d softly caught my scarlet scarf
pulling me deftly back into you?
I remember your warm breath on the nape of my neck,
your hands in my hair,
your lips feverish on my red lips,
the fiery embrace, the need, the desire and our passionate kisses
in the wilderness.
Do you know how our pulsating, throbbing love had made me forget all?
Only you and I had existed in those oozy woods.
Later I had ruminated over the loss of my scarf,
Its scarlet had haunted me,
till the day you declared your love and gifted it back to me.
Whenever I chance upon that scarlet scarf,
Lost among the clutter of monotony,
my wistful eye still craves for you.
