I was skipping and jumping and hopping through
In the garden of childhood where flowers bloomed,
The sun shined bright, rainbow upright
Everything was perfect, everything just right.
I was skipping and jumping and hopping around
When I came across the teenage town,
The winds became chillier and sun went lower
The springtime of life was all but over.
I charged and rushed and paced through the town
Where nonchalance rained, in which anyone could drown.
My height grew taller but my temper shorter,
Anyone in my way will get slaughtered.
I stumbled and fell and got hurt galore,
It was a peculiar but crucial time for sure.
The town taught me values, the falls taught me lessons
Without all that, I wouldn't be the same person.
I was charging and rushing and pacing round the hood
When I discovered the terrifying adulthood woods,
I entered the forest and the sun disappeared
'twas a moonless night, which even the mighty feared.
Mist of confusion loomed, nothing was clear,
Frost said to take the road less traveled
But what one might do, when there's no road in sight to choose.
I shivered and quivered and treaded with caution
Am I good enough for anything, I began to question.
From this jungle I want to run away,
but to choose a path is the only way.
I can't go back, I can't cause more delay,
Just pick a path and accept what it bears
I don't know what to do, everything's blear.
Only thing I know is to set aside my fears,
Whichever way I go, I know I'll be sincere
The road to be taken is easier than it appears.
