The Peace in Letting Go

By Evanshi Ranjan

Everything that happened was not in my control.
It was as if it were a story beginning to unfold.
An unlikely alliance, a tryst of trust,
A blind eye to the life she'd leave in dust.

For weeks, secluded.
The season was in bloom.
For she had not seen the storm leading to doom.

A dagger to the heart.
A betrayal putting Judas to shame.
A friendship shattered.
And only she left to blame.

Her naivety led to the burning of her castle.
She thought she was a player, but turned out to be a lowly hassle.
As the world slipped through her fingers,
She began to notice the rest who lingered.
The loved ones who remained were her true saviors.
She found herself and made she her endeavor.

She blossomed in the storm.
The wind in her midst.
She gleamed like the moon.
Her mind was bliss.

Though her angel had fallen into the devil's hands,
She trusted the darling to return back to land.
And even if the case may not be so,
She finds peace in believing she was meant to let go.
