The Messy Occurrence – Delhi Poetry Slam

The Messy Occurrence

By Suprima Roy

There are times I feel too heavy to write
All drained and confused with cluttered thoughts and hush-hush fights
Thus my journey begins to strive, strive and further strive

I wish to fly and soak in innate pleasure
Golden chains rule them down and boredom prevails with secured leisure

Hold! Wait there!!
Isn't this the repetitive narration of the entire worldly-measure?

Then, say forth
What discriminates you from this so-called gesture??

  • Evocative Suprima of the over crowded spaces within us, imprisoning us in golden cage of boredom inaction and frustration. This is how i related to it. Beautiful and poetic expression of our inner reality that no one sees.

  • Your poem truly resonated with me. It beautifully captures that heavy, tangled inner space we often don’t speak about.

The image of “golden chains” and the final question struck a deep chord—it made me pause and reflect.

Thank you for putting such honest emotion into words. Your writing stays with the reader, long after it’s read.
