The Meet

By Manaswi Susarla

Upon the terrace, he waits still
With all his emotions beneath
And crying out his happiness
Inside his fluttering heart's sheath

It flutters for her
Like a nightingale in the cage
About to unveil
That his life is a book, with her on every page

Slowly, gently, her footsteps heard
He calmly adorns it
Like THE nightingale's song
In the night, moonlit

With all his soul, he beholds
Her eyes as bright as the moon
Her smile as soothing as the gentle breeze
Her presence as true as their love

She gazes him with her pure heart
As THE moon's shine reflects in his eyes
As his hair sways in the gentle breeze
As he locks his sight on her

The moment they meet
Softly drenched their eyes remain
And their hearts cry
In the drizzle of rain

Both embrace the warmth of each other
And feel the time pause
Their eternal souls unite in a rhythm
In the nights soothing melody

They gaze upon the sky, hands interwined
Her head gently rests on his shoulder
In the heaven of silence, the hearts throb
Their words dont but their souls talk
