The Mask

By Swati Thakur

The mask you wear is something we all bear,
For us to see what you really are
You must leave your mind ajar.
When falling into obscurity
Or even possibly insecurity,
Just know that you can take off the mask
Even tough It's painful task.
The sorrow inside is a part of you,
Learning to control it all you can do.
Whether you choose to do it or not
It's up to you to extend the plot.
Finding yourself is quite a challenge
You are forced to find what left to scavenge.
The Mask you wear has made you unaware
Of what's going on in your life.
But you still resolve others strife,
Take it off will be quite the fight
By doing it everything will be alright.
The Mask you wear is not of a beauty but of fear,
Like the soft painted smile hiding what you hold dear.
The Mask you wear is something we all share,
Just be sure it's safe in your care.
