I have walked the path of pain and sorrow,
I have walked the path of jealousy that is hollow,
I have walked the path of misery which was never mine,
I have walked the lonely mile.
I have walked the lines of injustices and injury,
I have walked the lines of jealousy and stupidity,
I have walked the lines of failure and dignity,
I have walked the lonely mile.
I have crawled my way from despair to straight gloom,
I have crawled my way from darkness in search of the holy sky,
I have walked the lonely mile.
I have walked in the storm with eyes full of rain,
I have walked in shadows to hide from the pain,
I have walked the lonely mile.
I have walked from heartbreaks and self-doubts to keep my head high,
So some day I too can be proud,
I have tried to walk in the shoes of my father and the legacy before.
From dawn till the never-ending dusk,
I will always walk the lonely mile.
