The Hope in the Storm

By Bhargavvi Atul Bajpai

It was a stormy rainy night
With winds blowing across
Scattering everything which was built
The shades which were meant to protect were broken into pieces
The rains had fallen upon and broken everything
The sky was darker than ever
As if looming the upcoming disaster
Huge trees had fallen apart and other plants were failing to protect
But there was a group of plants who were standing upright
They had battered the storm strongly and were fighting it out
No sun and no one to water them
But they were undeterred and strong
Ready to face all odds
One fine day
The storm was over and it has passed
The beaming sunlight had fallen across the wet ground
Giving it the warmth it needed
Those plants were still upright, strong and undeterred.
They survived the storm and won
Much later
The barren ground with those plants was filled again with many flowers
Beaming once again happily
And standing together, forever.
