The Hands That Shaped Me

By Vrushali Barbare

The hands that held me together
When my world was falling apart,
The hands that rested on my shoulders,
Easing the weight upon my heart.
The hands that wiped away my tears,
And brought a smile to my face,
The hands that clasped my own so tight,
When I struggled to keep the pace.
The hands that cheered my smallest wins,
The hands that helped me look within,
The hands that reached to shake my own,
To build, create, and begin.
The hands that rested on my head,
A blessing, a quiet guide,
The hands that pulled me up with strength,
Or pushed me to rise with pride.
The hands of women who truly know
The trials of walking this way,
The hands of men who understand
What it means to be her each day.
Grateful for every hand that shaped
The woman I’ve become today
Happy Women’s day to each of them
In love, in light ,in strength I say
