Yesterday when I was drinking tea
I let my mind set free
And let it roam everywhere
Like an athlete with their favourite shoes' pair
And while it was racing along the stations of life
Without care, with all its might
It trembled, it fell and came to a halt
The tea, once sweet, now tasted like salt
I closed my eyes and asked my mind,
I asked it what makes you so unfine.
It replied,
"Here we are, at the same spot
Where everything came to a halt
Where she came, where she left
Where you became bereft"
I opened my eyes and gasped
Took a sip of that tastless tea
My mind afraid, but I was more
How do I forget this tragedy.
When she came, my life was a joy
Reason to live, reason to laugh, but oh boy
The moments I lived, died away
But the moment she left, kills me everyday
I closed my eyes again
Bleeding through the heart, crying out my brains
My mind now empty, its legs had sprained
Like a barren field, soaked in rain
I'm trapped in time, locked in pain
Every breath calls out in vain
The day she came into my life
Everything came to a halt
The Sun shined brightly, my heart skipped a beat
And my mind bloomed inside the heat
She was pretty, she was funny
She was as sweet as a bee's finest honey
Her eyes so beautiful, with her mysterious smile
Her courage, fierce as the untamed Nile
Her hair were long, yet shorter than her pride
Inside my mind, she was already my bride
Then one day she left
Everything came to a halt
The sky became cloudy, my heart throbbed
Of all the happiness in life, I was robbed
I tried to shout, but became mute
Like a plant detached straight from its root
Since that day, my mind still strays
Lost in the wild, chasing yesterdays
While I write this, my hands shiver, with—
Chills running down my spine
I know not if I will ever be fine
But I will wait until she becomes mine
While I wait, I roam with my mind
Repeating this poem line by line
"The day she came,
The day she left
Everything came to a halt!"
