The Fake You, The Fake Them: Lost in the Spaces Between

By Akshita Saxena

I have questions for myself:
Am I the person who sees people as their pawns,
or have I been a pawn to them?

I stand here in the middle-
between being fake,
or being treated fake all along.
Yet they say I have been in the wrong,
but my intuition whispers it’s right-
You have been wronged all along.

So run, my friend.
You’ve been buried in the voids of fake personalities.
Don’t lose yourself.
For your soul is as pure as water-
but you’ve been misguided,
and now it’s polluted
by the fake you, and the fake them,
blurring your truth,
and stealing your real smile.
