In the quiet woods where I once stood tall,
I feel the changes, the softest call.
Roots deep in the soil, I held the ground,
But now I’m weary, my strength unwound.
Once my leaves danced under the warm sunlight.
Now, as the shadows approach, the days feel tight.
Birds used to sing, their voices filling the air.
Now silence falls as I’m gasping for care.
The sky turns grey,
As I watch my friends fade away.
Each leaf dropping is a part of who I am,
As a reminder of who I used to be.
Though the ground shakes and chainsaws echo,
I reach for hope no matter what breaks.
Listen to the whispers as I plead,
For in silence there’s still a tree.
I dream of time when we can thrive,
Together in a world which feels alive.
