The Dream Day

By Soumya Devasi

One Day, I Wore The Crown,
Adorned With Sweet Words, Respectful Bows,
And Gifts That Overflowed With Love.
My Home, Neighbors, And Colleagues Treated Me Like Royalty,
With Quotes That Inspired And Hearts That Adored.

But, My Coronation Day Began With Humble Sounds:
The Alarm Clock's Gentle Ring,
The Clinking Of Plates,
The Whirring Of The Mixer,
The Scooters' Gentle Hum,
The School Buses' Cheerful Chatter,
And The Vegetable Vendor's Melodious Bell.

As My Alarm Rang Once More.
I Opened My Eyes To Find No Crown.
My Gaze Fell Upon The Calendar,
And I Realized It Was Just Another Day.

But, As I Caught Up, I Smiled,
For Today Was March 9th,
And Yesterday Was A Dream Day,
A Day Celebrated By Women Everywhere.
