I sit alone with no one near,
The silent shadows bring me fear.
With no connection to the world outside,
I begin to sway and glide.
The darkness slowly wraps my mind.
A void where I cannot find,
A way to speak, to be alive.
In thin air I survive.
Even though I breathe it’s hard to feel,
Like time has stopped and I cannot heal.
I long for light but all is still,
In this cold world against my will.

To me the poignant words of the bold poet reflect inner conflict, unuttered emotions, and the feeling of being trapped. Amazing dexterity with words and total honesty with thoughts.
His imagery reminds me of Thoreau’s observation: “most men lead lives of quiet desperation”.
