The Cloud and Sun

By Vikas Kumar

It's cloud and sun playing hide and seek,
With showers swaggering at times, at times meek.

The sun says "hello" to us, then slides in a thick veil,
The hovering clouds then embark the sky’s keel,

Helmed cheerfully by the winds of mirth,
In a trice, they steal the shade on Earth.

The sun gets a chance and loftily it shines,
Nourishing the firs, the oaks, and the pines.

Nickering horses, purring cats, and chirping birds,
Its blessed glint breeds life in cosmos, lore in nerds.

So both of them play and nurture the entire mankind
The first one leads, and the other promptly follows behind.
