The childhood beacon – Delhi Poetry Slam

The childhood beacon

By Aditri Naru

The bridge of moonlight over the tiding sea,
Escaping from the bondage of clouds all free.
And as the torch of night lighted up in the sky,
Seeing the trembling earth below it gave a sigh.
The eager child bounced up and down even without the tiniest frown,
High up and above the smiling mother gently calmed it down.
And as the torch of night lighted up in the sky,
Seeing the trembling earth below it gave a sigh.
She blew her sheen warmth all over it,
Till even she was satisfied that each part of it was a sparkling bit.
And as the torch of night lighted up in the sky,
Seeing the trembling earth below it gave a sigh.
People in and around were shocked to see the rising tide,
What they did not know was that the child within was going towards his mother’s side.
The women were stunned at seeing the moon the most calm ,
What they did not know was that even she was running towards her child's arms.
And as the torch of night lighted up in the sky,
Seeing the trembling earth below it gave a sigh.
As the child gently embraced his true belove
A tear escaped as we knew they won't meet the one they love.
