The Changing World Order

By Shivani Mehta

I’m out of my leading strings
And ready to grow wings.
With every new step, my heart sings
Of the opportunities that ring.
Although there are some fears that cling,
And some uncertainties sling...

Will the days continue to be hazy?
The political order so mazy,
AQI levels so crazy-
I still wonder what all changes I might see!
Government policies so phrasey,
Civil outbursts so blazey.

Everything around me has started to change,
Sometimes not within my range.
People, emotions, climate-all acting strange.
I wish I could put them in order and arrange,
Bring back my childhood in exchange,
Which seems to be now estrange.

The past was a better place,
When nothing was a race.
Today, there is a mask on my face-
Junk hole even in space!
The perfect vaccine we continue to chase,
Mankind has yet again fallen from grace.
