Tangled Threads

By Asmita Roy

In shadows deep, life’s tangled thread,
A heart weighs heavy, a mind misled.
What’s the true ache, the deepest pain?
Is it the rejections, like falling rain?

Four times denied, yet still I stand,
Or the beauty lost, slipped through my hand?
Three years squandered on dreams gone cold,
A chance to be cherished, a story untold.

That home I believed was warm and true,
A facade of comfort, now breaking through.
A slow, aching pulse from a love once dear,
Longing for warmth, yet gripped by fear.

Am I the worst? Is it I to blame?
Choosing the wrongs in this twisted game?
Decisions made, will regret take its place?
Questions like shadows, thoughts interlace.

Tons of inquiries swirl in my mind,
In this mess of life, what truth can I find?
Yet through the chaos, a flicker remains,
A whisper of hope in the midst of the pain.

Though life may be messy, with storms all around,
Still I’ll gather the pieces, where hope can be found.
In shadows deep, where whispers play,
Even between the lies, I’ll stay.

A candle’s flame, a steadfast glow,
Of hope and love, I won’t let go.
