Sunset

By BHAWNA MEHTA

Just as one busy exhausting day is done,
The insects and birds return back to their young ones,
The sky gets lit up by an orange-colored hue,
The sight which is mesmerizing and magical for few.

The beautiful sky suddenly looks like a shy bride,
The colors of crimson, yellow and orange thrive,
The big sun which earlier looked like a ball of fire,
Now is slowly fading away to retire.

Slowly and softly as it sets in the horizon,
I just gaze at it questioning with excitement,
Where does this huge ball of fire go?
Making the day so dark, solemn and slow.

I guess that’s the way of the nature’s appeal,
To teach us that it’s time to wind up work and seal,
To laze and leave aside every little thing and rest,
Just like the sun after shining the whole day finally sets.
