Suno Tum!

By Nisha Patel

Listen, you!
You are listening, right?
Many times,
this heart of mine
becomes restless beyond measure—
to meet you,
to sit beside you,
to listen to your voice,
so sweet,
melting like nectar in my ears,
overflowing with emotions!
Just your deep voice,
flowing into my ears,
in every season,
in every moment,
in every state of being!
Be it the scorching sun
blazing upon my skin,
or its golden rays shimmering on desert sands,
or the soft, gentle glow
of a winter morning’s first light.
Be it in the biting cold,
where the body shivers,
wrapped in a blanket of snow,
nestled in the earth’s embrace.
Or on those long, dark winter nights,
beneath a sky adorned with twinkling stars.
Or in the gentle drizzle,
by candlelight,
cupping raindrops in my palms.
Be it in the endless downpour,
with arms outstretched,
swaying with the wind,
soaked to the soul,
dancing in abandon.
Or beneath the moonlight,
as it peeks from behind the clouds,
scattering soft beams upon us.
Or by the riverbank,
where flowing waters
glimmer upon golden sands.
Or atop towering mountain peaks,
where the air thins,
and breaths grow heavy.
I just want to keep listening
to this voice of yours—
emerging from your heart,
and settling deep within mine!
You just keep humming,
and I,
with my silent words,
will match your rhythm,
sitting beside you for a lifetime!
I want nothing more,
I seek nothing less!
An unbreakable bond now ties me to you—
You,
Me,
And your voice!
