I learned from a book called Society,
It told me what’s right and what’s wrong.
Never mind ‘why’, for the list is so long,
And if you defy the book of rules,
Oh! You pragmatic fool!
The righteous will chastise you,
The religious will punish,
The pure will shame you,
And no hate amiss.
The preacher will preach, but practice he won’t,
Be cultured, they say, but a do-gooder? You don’t!
I learned from a book called Society,
I come from a land of so-called culture,
Where the infidel teaches about loyalty,
The serpent pledges fealty,
The addict proclaims self-love,
Reward and punishment to dictate them,
Alongside hell below and heaven above.
I don’t want to live in a world with such apparent vulgarity,
Where the rich don’t have enough rights to give but plenty of charity,
Where true beauty is violated and vanity is glorified,
Where violence is ignored, but heresy cannot slide,
In short, I learned from a book called society that consumes everything it shames,
Drugs, alcohol, lust, pride and fame,
They’re praised, yet they’re the ones we blame.
Open your mind, question the power,
don’t follow it blindly for society’s a sick, sick game.
That final couplet was perfect. You have pure talent for expressing emotions and thoughts into beautiful words. Hope you keep creating more.
Excellent composition

Your poem is a poignant portrayal of societal flaws and injustices. The choice of metaphors and rhythm enhances the depth of your message. It’s rare to see such maturity in thought and expression from a young poet.
Continue nurturing this talent—you have the potential to become a powerful voice for change. Stay blessed dear.

Did not expect these 4 paragraphs to speak what more than what many hesitate to say aloud.
Not just an art, but the social truth.
