Snowfall – Delhi Poetry Slam

Snowfall

By Dhanya Jacob

The beauty of the mountains
Coated with thick snow
Words I don’t have enough
To portray the serene view
I see the children play at far
Throwing back n forth big lumps of snow
I wonder aren’t they feeling cold
May be they are lost in the depth of friendship

Snowflakes…
You offer me an excellent design
As I ponder of baking a cake
Or to weave a pattern to beautify a dress
As I hold you in my palms, I feel mesmerized

Thither Wither you fall
Dancing to the rhythm of the wind
Harsh to break a glass or two
At times you make it hard to get out
The temperatures so low
The jittering of teeth at night
But still I can forgive you
For the blessings that you bring.
While Summer is at its peak
Eagerly I do wait
To ride in a sleigh and
To skate and dash through you
Every time you come
You present Christmas with you
And in silence
You keep me company
With a coffee mug at my balcony

The snow men that I notice across
The white landscape
Do remind me that you are
An inevitable part of my life.
