There's no place for the grand sadness,
In a world whose guts lay besquelched,
Where debris is vomited upon the street,
Where charred ashes of children
Mix with our water supply.
I fail to see the point of my heart murmurs,
I replace incandescent bulbs with stars,
I shatter my screens on the sidewalk,
I borrow pages of knowledge
From the only book that survived the flood.
I wake up with the sun,
I curse it all the way to sunset,
I let it sear my skin, my spleen,
The surface of the bed scrapes me,
Waves crashing onto my cranium.
I feel smaller until I collapse upon myself,
A black hole, radiating slowly.
I look out to the world speeding to its death,
I look at my heart, a singularity,
Where all light goes to die.
Beautiful
It really hurts
Excellent poem where poet has put his deep thoughts of his heart in beautiful words
Excellent piece of art!
