Silent Invitation – Delhi Poetry Slam

Silent Invitation

By Priyamvada Bagadi

You receive a silent invitation
Something evokes
Before you realise
Your whole body burnt
You no longer a man or lady
You are new
With each cell emitting energy
Call whatever you may so
Feel whatever you please so
Never enough to reach the other shore
You fall deep into emptiness
For once to embrace loneliness
For once and for all

I only wish to send my love
Never wanting yours
When I look at the dawn
I see you filled with orange and red
Kissing my face with all your warmth.
When I strech my hand for a dance
You grace yourself to be my partner
Together we are in a beautiful duet
In a timeless world of only ours.
When I steal a look
In the choas of the day
From the corner of the room
You wishper in my ears
The chills of a winter breeze.
I look forward to the night
The night filled with you
And only you
Without distractions,
Melting in your eyes
In the wilderness of the night
No longer lonely
No longer empty
I am not the lady
You are not the man
One in the eternity
Forever and always..
