The profound encompassing affection
Yes, love that I knew as a child-
It seems to have ventured into an unretrievable world.
Emotions buried under competition & perfection.
In a tug of war of patriarchy & feminism,
Humanity is getting brutally wounded.
Sympathy & empathy succumbs to jealousy & bitterness,
Sovereignty is losing its sheen to fascism.
The average intelligence & income has appreciated,
Quality of life is outgrowing the past-
Fans to AC, landline to mobile, single-screen to multiplexes,
Yet recent incidents scream to us:
Emotional intelligence has deprecated.
Definition of happiness is limited to Instapost & pictures,
Success measured by number of followers.
Are we all really happy?
Is it that most of us have mastered the art of depicture?
