I am a shadow of my mother,
Reflecting the brown shade of her eyes.
Instilling similar happiness and fear,
Being a woman, strong and wise.
Life let me inherit some of her amazing traits,
Like being kind, gentle and forgiving.
I inculcate it all and see what further awaits,
Till then I hold on and keep striving.
The strength of her endurance has passed onto me,
I realize as I look at the scars I've obtained.
So I hope that whatever I am and shall be
Will be similar to what she has attained.
Wrapped in the veil of modesty and faith,
I have seen her as an epitome of purity.
With lots of compassion and less of wrath,
I've seen her as the most gracious beauty.
