Self-realize

By Dr. Silima Nanda

In the eerie hours of dawn,
Slumber envelops,
Stillness speaks—
Its resonance sweet.

The air slips in and out of rooms
Like vapory clouds,
Merging into the skies.

The marbled floors palpably breathe
Mystic sensations
Felt by the inner self,
Stirred through friendly
Embers of stillness.

In the busy hours of
The mundane life,
Traversing half the span of life,
I had never paused
To reckon this
Silent companion
In me—
Hear its soulful rhapsody,
Fiddled by subtle
Cords of stillness.
