Leaves left wilted,
While souls were left unheard.
Voices, they were caged,
While the truth, just more it blurred.
All these twisted screams,
A world of sacred lies.
If only one could decipher,
The growing pain in her eyes.
Immoral values,
A violation of one’s rights.
Deafened under the screams,
Lied her unsettled plight.
Care, trust and love,
All bound to disheveled schemes.
A feeling of vulnerability,
Also haunting her dreams.
So she wakes to the tremor,
And then sleeps to the chaos.
Scared of when her life,
Would be next to come to pause.
Trapped within her walls,
She survives in her cage.
Forced to feel sorry,
When all she felt was rage.
Blamed for something she didn’t do,
Forced to make it her fault.
Shamed for their sins,
While her life comes to a halt.
She lived where she wasn’t cared for,
Stripped of her freedom so bestowed.
Sufferings that no one ever spoke of,
And bruises that she never showed.
And once again this very day,
Her cries for help, left unheard.
While the predator reveled in her terror,
And the victim’s life, it blurred.
And time too shall pass,
But not her heart so bruised.
If only for once, her life,
Is something she could choose.
Strong enough to take action,
To realise it's not too late.
Let every woman for once,
Herself choose her fate.
